Smaller City Government???

In a interesting proposal, The Chillicothe Gazette reports that this week City Council President Alan Davis proposed to save the City of Chillicothe money with the possible elimination of the City Council President seat, citing that other cities have done this and would save over $6000.00 a year for the city of Chillicothe. Mr.Davis has already chose to not run for re-election and this would be a move that the voters would engage in on the ballot to decide to remove or not remove the position.

The possible move will be up for discussion when the city’s human resources committee meets at 3 p.m. Wednesday in the first-floor conference room of the city administration building. Also up for consideration is legislation that would reduce city council from nine members to seven.
