COLUMBUS (AP) — A central Ohio grand jury has issued indictments against 14 people accused of being involved in a drug-trafficking ring that brought oxycodone from Florida “pill mills” for sale in central Ohio.
Franklin County Prosecutor Ron O’Brien announced the indictments Monday in Columbus.
O’Brien said the organization was bringing drugs with a street value of between $10,000 and $20,000 to the state every week for at least two years.
The alleged ringleader, 29-year Michael Berry, and 13 members of the organization were arrested Nov. 17. Authorities seized 17 guns, including three assault rifles, a bullet-proof vest, more than $8,000 in cash and 900 pills with a street value of $27,000.
Arraignments were expected later Monday in court in Columbus. Attorney information for Berry was not available.
