Fire on Old Route 35

The Chillicothe Gazette reports that firefighters from Liberty, Harrison, Jefferson and Springfield townships responded to a structure fire Wednesday afternoon outside of Chillicothe on Old Route 35 that resulted in no injuries Liberty Township Fire Chief Steve Leach said his department received a call about 1:15 p.m. Wednesday afternoon in response to a structure fire at 26717 Old Route 35. Leach said the cause was thought to have originated inside the chimney. One person had to be restrained from running into the structure in search of medicine while the fire was being battled.
