Ohio Home Explodes, Felt 6 miles Away

Via The Chillicothe Gazette
MADISON (AP) — An early morning blast has destroyed an unoccupied northeast Ohio home and damaged several others.

WEWS-TV of Cleveland reports the explosion occurred around 12:30 a.m. Sunday at 1518 Parkview Drive in the Lake County village of Madison, between Cleveland and Ashtabula. The blast was felt as far as Geneva, which is six miles away.

Madison Fire Chief Gene Lutz said all four walls of the house were blown out and the roof collapsed.

Crews were set to begin digging up the gas line to the house after the scene was cleared in search of an explanation for the incident. Fire officials told the station any gas issue was isolated to the home that exploded.
