Layoff's on Tap for City of Chillicothe

The Chillicothe Gazette is reporting that up to 20 City Jobs may slashed in an effort to help remedy the city budget crisis. Mayor Jack Everson who participated in the meeting with council members via telephone, proposed job cuts that are "spread out across the board" including jobs from the city treasurer's office, civil service and police and fire departments. The proposed savings for the city according to City Auditor Tom Spetnegal Jr would be close to $810,000.
