She was born September 16, 1964 to the late Leo Smith and Pat (Smith) Upton. She was the mother of Michael, Josh (Erin) and Jon (Rebekah) Metzger; meme of Gabe, Taylor, Joey, Payton and Brody; sister of Bret (Angela) and Robin Mavis, Brad, Tara, Betsy and Travis Smith, and an aunt to Nat Mavis.
Christi was a student at Ohio University-Chillicothe, where she recently completed her associate’s degree in health and human services, and was working towards her bachelor degree. She was an intern with the Ross Co. Juvenile Court working at Zane Trace Middle School.
The Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated 8:30 am, Thursday, at St. Mary Church, Rev. Lawrence Hummer officiating. Graveside services will be held at the convenience of the family in St. Margaret Cemetery. Friends may call 5-8 pm Wednesday at the Haller Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to the Haller Funeral Home, 1661 Western Ave., Chillicothe, OH 45601 to help with final expenses.
