11-Yr-Old Ross County Jr Idol Competitor Overcoming Odds To Showcase Talents

11-year-old Huntington elementary student Olivia Allagree, is prepared to compete at this years Feast of the Flowering Moon's "Ross County Jr Idol". Olivia has had a journey to be able to compete in contests like Idol, as she was born half deaf with no right ear canal and could only hear out of the left ear. As her mother explained to Southern Ohio Social Times, fortunately she was a good candidate for surgery on the ear canal to open it and hopefully correct the problem. The operation was successful and she has had a total of 4 "touch-up" surgeries following the original surgery over the years. Through it all, Olivia never allowed it to slow her love and passion of learning music and signing. This year will be her 2nd year at the feast and has also competed in numerous other area talent shows. As her mother Tabby Allagree said, "we have all learned through this that God may not always give you everything you want, but he does give you everything you need to get through things." Good luck Olivia! ~AB
