Layoff's loom for The City of Chillicothe

The Chillicothe Gazette is reporting that.......

Plans for a $42 million city budget to go before the Chillicothe City Council Monday evening have been scrapped as officials will take another look at Mayor Jack Everson’s budget proposal that calls for the elimination of 20 city positions.....this past week City officials revealed during the Dec. 4 meeting Everson was recommending 20 position reductions to save the city $809,431. Four firefighters and four police officers — which account for about $250,000 in each department — were among the positions proposed to be cut, in addition to trims in the city treasurer’s office, the law director’s office and some civil service jobs.....READ MORE
